Oréll Digital Language Lab Software @ St. Thomas College, Thrissur

Oréll’s latest deal at Thrissur-the cultural capital of Kerala, is with St. Thomas’ College, one of the pioneering colleges in the God’s own Country. The IT Enabled Language Lab (Oréll Talk) was implemented at the college laboratory by Mr. Shajan Dinesh, the Technical Support Executive from Oréll. The language lab software set up at the college can be used by two hundred students at the same time for improving their language fluency and communication skills.

Following the installation, Oréll delegate provided a training session to the language faculty of the college to make them familiarise with the software. Mr. Biju, the Computer Science Department Head of the college gave all assistance of our technical person for the successful installation of the software.

The language lab software provides all students, no matter where they are placed in the language laboratory, equal opportunity to hear the teacher and to be heard by the teacher. Each student can access the lesson material assigned by the teacher and can complete it at their own comfort.

St. Thomas’ College, Thrissur was founded as an educational institution in 1889 by the then Vicar Apostolic of Thrissur, Rt. Rev. Adolphus Edwin Medlycott, Ph.D, a former Professor of Rhetoric at the Propaganda College, Rome. The College was affiliated to the University of Kerala in 1957 and to the University of Calicut in 1968. St. Thomas’ College was accredited for the second time in 2010 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with A grade for a period of five years. The UGC granted Autonomous Status to the College on 13.06.2014. The College has 23 departments, 14 PG programmes 23 UG programmes and 8 research centres.
