Oréll Digital Language Lab at THK Jain College, Kolkata

THK Jain College, one of the premier colleges in West Bengal has opted for Premium edition of Oréll digital language lab to promote second/foreign language learning in digital environment.

The installation of the language lab system and training was carried out by Mr. Abhinav, the Technical Support Executive at Oréll. The software installed in the THK college laboratory can be used by two-hundred users at a time.

The technology integrated in Oréll Talk language laboratory offers great advantages to both teachers and students. The language lab system allows high degree of attention to diversity and personalised teaching and learning process. Both the teacher and students can access the new Information and Communication Technology quickly and easily. Though the language lab is basically a teacher-controlled system, the methodology applied in it is student- centered task based learning. Teacher’s work is enhanced and facilitated by the technology and thus he/she acts a supervisor, scaffolder and motivator inspiring students to learn and advance in their language skills. Oréll Talk language laboratory fosters interactive communication in the classroom and use of multimedia resources in language learning.

Taradevi Harakh Chand Kankaria Jain College, a self financed minority college, affiliated to the University of Calcutta, was established in 2006 by Shree S.S.Jain Sabha. The institution is named after two renowned personalities Late Taradevi Kankaria and Shri Harakh Chand Kankaria. The college runs undergraduate courses in science, arts and commerce under the curriculum of University of Calcutta. To maintain standard quality education the college provides supreme infrastructure facilities and has appointed young, dynamic, qualified and experienced teachers.
